Underoath has been an influential band for many fans throughout the years and the band is still drawing in massive crowds to this day. One of their most recent performances in Southern California shows how many people are still passionate about this band’s music as well as supportive in their new ventures.
Underoath’s “Erase Me” Tour Demonstrates New Side of the Band
Underoath shook the walls of The Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on Friday to a passionate crowd of roughly 6,000 Los Angeles natives.
The band had a wide array of special events within the past year in LA to celebrate their first album since their hiatus entitled “Erase Me,” however, this event was the first time the band was able to officially play these new songs to an LA native audience.
Underoath’s new material resonated with passionate fans who welcomed this new chapter of the band as well as those in the audience who can relate to many of the darker themes in the new album.
In addition to the new songs from “Erase Me,” the band played many of their well know singles such as “In Regards to Myself” as well as “Reinventing Your Exit.”
The band also paid tribute to one of their influences by performing a cover of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box.”
Dance Gavin Dance, Crown the Empire and The Plot in You Help Bring the Erase Me Tour to LA
In addition to the phenomenal performance that Underoath put on, the support kept the audience on their toes for the whole night. It was refreshing to see a lineup with some genre variety when so many modern-day tour packages lean heavily to a single genre.
Dance Gavin Dance brought an intricate mix of post-hardcore and progressive rock to the stage of the Shrine Auditorium. Dance Gavin Dance also recently put out a new album and played a majority of singles of this album entitled “Artificial Selection.”
Crown the Empire brought their blend of concept art metalcore to the stage and The Plot in You left a very lasting positive impression on the crowds as one of the upcoming acts that have made impressive strides over the past year.
Underoath’s very own Spencer Chamberlain stated live on stage that their record label, Fearless Records, introduced Chamberlain to The Plot in You and after the first song he had listened to from the band, he was hooked and had to have them join the Erase Me tour.
What Is Next For Underoath?
The band is currently halfway through their headlining tour with no plans to slow down in the near future. This tour is not one to miss with emotionally driven songs, passionate energy, amazing live production, and exceptional stage presence.
